I just bought a Subi that came with an Accessport in it, and the very first thing I did when I got home was ripe that POS out of the car and throw it in the closet! I prefer to be able to tune my own car and thats not possible with an Accessport.

little late, but doesn’t the sti come stock with around 300hp? you need all that for an extra 40 hp?

I'm considering buying an STi which was ej205 swapped and tuned by a very well known shop and tuner. The owner has said he is trying to get out of the Subaru game, but based on the odometer reading it's hardly been driven since the swap. I've spoken to the shop which did the swap and they were very confident that it was done correctly without corners cut and will be a reliable daily. Should I still avoid it, and if so why?

Andy Forrest break all the records with this EG33 engine. Afaik, he was doing circuit, drag and top speed same day same season same engine. Yeah its expensive but I wouldn't move to a FA24. Put 2JZ if thats what you expect.

Cold climates - Just pour a touch of something that wont freeze into the base 10-20ml, so that it helps from freezing. I empty out once a month, and when I do I just tip a bit of RV Antifreeze in there.

The stages? 1. Car is stock and has rev hang. 2. You start modding and the car becomes even more fun. 3. Your DAM drops below 1.00, you have feedback knock and probably boost leak. 4. You fix it and the car is fun again. Repeat stages 3 and 4 every couple months or so. 😂

One of the worst things about driving my 05 lightly modded STi was every asshole trying to bait me into a race at every light. No matter what they drove. I live in Florida so theres that. Had a civic shitbox with a kid driving and 3 chicks trying me in rush hour traffic once. He'd been next to me for miles between lights, revving and talking shit.. Finally I kind of faked him a little, just a little stab in second. He was so busy watching me he had to swerve over the curb to avoid the car in front of him. He still hit them. Plus he broke every suspension part and who knows what else under the car on the curb. The girls busted out laughing at him. No idea what he was thinking, teenager so probably thinking TESTOSTERONE! Even if I was down to race there was nowhere to go, rush hour. And his car..... it was like a 93 Civic Lx 4 door slammed with 4 people in it. Requisite shitty paint and straight pipe exhaust. Hopefully it was a learning eperience for him. How to get girls to laugh at you and refuse rides. About to start a quest for a 14 Sti hatch, should be fun driving 5 hours every direction to find someone's "mint stock" shitbox full of mod problems. But I know she's out there. I will find you, no matter how long, no matter how far! I will find you!

About to start my search for a low mileage, stock 14 STI hatch. Had an 05 I bought new and drove for 5 years. Planned on getting the hatch when they came out but priorities changed. I live in a big city with a great dealer and tuner shop. I'll still probably end up driving 5 hours in every direction to find one. Every one I see around here is "Stanced", body kit, loudest exhaust they could find. And that's about it. They beat the crap out them for a year or 2, take all the bullshit off and sell it as a "stock" car. So in other words, wish me luck.

Did I miss it... or did you not put extended wheel studs in all your hubs? Noticed the old studs still in around the 6:20 minute mark while installing fresh hubs. Great job and love following along.

This skipped over the wiring for logging purposes entirely? Which is what I came looking for. Literally the entire point of fitting a wideband setup. Was a waste of time watching this when you only did half the job. If you werent going to do the whole job then you should have mentioned it at the beginning of the video. Smh

I may have missed this point a whole while ago before the car was even disassembled but is there a reason for the brake booster delete? Wouldn't it make the car significantly harder to brake or no? I get maybe it's deleted for the brake feel, but wouldn't that mean now you'd have to slam the pedal just to gently brake the car?

Thanks for the video, you're the only one to mention the coolant lines don't matter where they get plumbed to. Even IAG doesn't mention this in their install pdf. Appreciate that! Anyhow, I broke the barb off the effing plastic Y fitting trying to get it into the original rubber hose. Guess I'll have to order a replacement to get this finished up. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

+1 on freezing and heating bearings. Redoing my Yamah aR6 engine case bearings that was a life saver!

Some aluminum brightener does a decent job of bringing back that shine on pieces you don't want to or can't coat

I run a bead of weld on bearing race and they pop right off

why not just go opensource

Get that T51R mod on the turbo!

Could have heated up the wheel bearing with the MiG welder. Weld bead can also be used as a striking point for an air hammer.
